When we accepted the referral for our (SN) daughter, the information in her file was almost a year old.  There were no updates in it, and I expected that there may not be any forthcoming.  I was ecstatic to find out that china-babies.com was active in our daughter’s province.  What a resource!  I knew they could provide me with information that was more complete than the updates that are sometimes provided through an agency.  Imagine my utter delight when I found out that she was in foster care, rather than an orphanage (as her paperwork stated).  Our daughter has a mommy caring for her!  It eased the burden on my heart so much.  I am so thankful that the daughter we are waiting for is being cared for in a family setting, complete with affection from someone who loves her very much.

The report told us many valuable things: where/how she sleeps, what she enjoys (food!) and fears (the dark!), her personality, and about her foster family.  The pictures of her, at this point in her life, are things that can never be recovered later.  In addition, the different angles and settings of the photos have given us and our children a better picture of who our daughter (and their sibling) is.

Thank you so much Misty, you went to so much trouble in producing such an in-depth report with fantastic pictures which is a complete storyboard of Lulu-Mei’s time with her foster family in Nanfeng.   Our care package never arrived in China which contained disposable cameras and so this is invaluable information and fills in a lot of the missing pieces of the jigsaw.   It is a treasure for us all and will be hugely precious and vital for Lulu-Mei in years to come, providing her with a solid record about her early life, the family who looked after her, pictures of where she slept and lived and the surrounding countryside.  We were delighted with your service which is so professional, the report is beautifully done and in my opinion an absolute blessing for any adopted child.

Dear China-Babies,

We are thrilled with the report and photos of our daughter in Zhangshu. Now many of our questions have been answered and we have the latest information about Annalyn’s growth and development. We are very happy to know she is loved and cared for in her SWI and that she has attachments to her caregivers and her friends. We know her routine and what she likes to play with. We even know she is a bit “naughty” at times but that sounds like a normally developing 15 month old! We can see her personality and spirit shining through all the photos. We are most happy to learn that she had her heart surgery and is all better now. Having all this information has made the wait for travel approval a little easier to bear. We still are anxiously waiting permission to get our daughter and bring her home, but we know she is happy and healthy and waiting for us!

TESTIMONIAL LETTER

Several weeks ago, I needed more information on a waiting child living in foster care at Nanchang.  The information that the adoption agency had received was a little outdated and left several questions unanswered about the child and her medical condition.  Misty Stanczyk who founded China-Babies.com was able to arrange for a third party to visit with the child, her foster mother, and orphanage staff to gather updated information.  Not only did this visit provide detailed information on the child, I received about 25 photos of the child, the foster mother, and workers at the orphanage during the visit.  Another service that Misty provides is gift packages.  We requested that the China agent deliver a special package to the little girl during the visit.  The package was presented to the child that included a new winter coat, a Barbie doll, hair accessories, and sweet snacks for her and her foster family.  Several photos showd the package of gifts as well as photos of the child wearing her new coat and holding her Barbie doll.  The photos were priceless and the information that was gathered  was enough to help me to decide to move forward with the adoption.   If any family is unable to get updated photos or feel they need more information on their waiting child, Misty will  try to make arrangements to get what you need.

My wife and I adopted our daughter, Kai Lian, from China in December 2005.  When we received the referral of our daughter in November that year, both the pictures we were given of her and the information in the referral were several months old, and the nothing had been updated.   Enter China-Babies!!!  They provided us with so much information, and the pictures in their report were simply wonderful!  We learned about her time in the orphanage and her sleeping arrangements while there, we saw pictures of her with her nanny and Kai playing with the other kids.  Once we saw how much she liked the potty chair in the photos, we knew that we had to get one to take home with us!  She’s a much, much happier baby because we got one.  We were astonished; she obviously prefers using it over diapers (less messy for us, too), and we would have had no idea about this if not for the report!

The referral from our agency noted that Kai was in foster care, but the report done by China-Babies gave us more detailed information; we found out that she had been in foster care through July, and then was placed back in the orphanage.  Our adoption agency gave us no indication of this, as their information hadn’t been updated, and if not for China-Babies, we would have never known.

It was great to get an idea of our daughter’s personality and schedule, so we would have some idea as to what to eventually expect, and the report by China-Babies provided us with that.  It is helping her transition to being with us, that’s for sure!

Packing for an overseas trip is difficult for most people, but how do you pack for a child whom you’ve never met?  Especially with the weight limits on luggage, why waste space and weight bringing baby clothes that don’t fit?  Having an accurate idea of your child’s size is invaluable, and China-Babies can provide you with that.

Dear Parent,

As an adoptive parent that took 6 years before being able to be united with my child, I thought that I had come to terms with the issues of the remaining unknowns that accompanied adoption from China.  However, not long after having my daughter, I found myself unexpectedly overwhelmed with questions without answers.  It was serendipitous to discover China-babies.com and I cannot speak more highly of their service!  My only lament was that they didn’t exist prior to my adoption!  Their response to my needs was not only sensitive and expeditious, but they are extremely knowledgeable of business dealings in China and the more delicate matter of securing sensitive information about our daughters. Further, they do their utmost to clear up inconsistencies (and if you’ve ever dealt with China officials, you will come to appreciate that this is a given!).    Their reports are well presented and thorough and the rates are reasonable.   One could not ask for more!
